Interim Product Director

Recruited has partnered with a consume-led, mobile tech start-up who're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Interim Product Director to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing and improving their product to meet customer needs and increase revenue.

As Product Director, you will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs, analyse the market, and provide solutions to improve the product's performance.

Process, Management & Delivery
  • Establish scalable processes that drive value for customers, as measured by weekly user retention, 90-day user retention, and revenue.
  • Implement an outcomes-driven approach to product leadership through processes, structure, tooling, and reporting.
Team Leadership
  • Guide and support people involved in 1.0 product work to build a healthy environment to absorb 2.0 as it transitions during Q1 & Q2, 2023.
  • Increase the predictability and quality of delivery with better visibility to stakeholders.
  • Drive attention towards revenue within the team, focusing on paying customers and resolving their issues as quickly as possible.
  • Set up an internal 2.0 team for success by protecting their workload, managing focus, and ensuring healthy communication between the two parallel paths.
Core Product
  • Focus on understanding current metrics and create a set of incremental feature improvement plans.
  • Identify customer pain points related to defects and prioritize issues.
  • Establish a product backlog consisting of features and defects.
Ways of Working
  • Identify appropriate tooling with the CTO and begin setting up with the team.
  • Introduce and improve ways of working to support frequent discovery and delivery cadences.
  • Create and define guidelines and standards for documentation and backlog management.
  • Populate product delivery tooling and templates with identified features/activities.
  • Make recommendations on hires and organizational structure.
